Andrea Berta holds private meeting over Arsenal summer target

Arsenal director, Andrea Berta, has held a private meeting regarding one of the club’s highest transfer targets.
The Gunners are preparing for arguably the most crucial summer transfer window under Mikel Arteta’s tenure, and they appear to be moving with speed.
The transfer window opens earlier this year, due to the inaugural revamped FIFA Club World Cup, as clubs are available to secure deals from 1 June to 10 June, before the market re-opens from 16 June to 1st September.

Real Sociedad midfielder, Martín Zubimendi’s, move to North London is now imminent, after paying the £51million release clause, with the club now sorting the Spaniard’s medical and VISA application.
Now, Arsenal’s priority is bolstering their attacking force, with the Gunners keen to welcome a new left-winger to compete with Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, as well as a striker to lead the line.
The current top two in the shortlist for the club’s hunt for a goalscorer are Benjamin Šeško and Viktor Gyökeres, with Mikel Arteta preferring the RB Leipzig man.
The Gunners were keen to secure Šeško’s signature last summer ahead of the UEFA European Championships, but as a young player, he signed a new contract in Germany, focusing on his development.
After further approaches were rejected by the Bundesliga club in January, the 21 year-old will now depart the club this summer, with numerous clubs interested.
In an attempt to win the race, Arsenal have already opened talks with both the Slovenian and his club, with the hope of finally securing their target.
According to Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg, Berta held a meeting with RB Leipzig’s director, Marcel Schäfer, in the past few days in London, over a possible deal for the striker.
Last season, not a single player at The Emirates registered over ten league goals, a club record datign back over 100 years, and the club will now be keen to welcome a goalscorer in their title bid.
Šeško netted the most league goals of any under-21 player in Europe’s top five leagues last season, as he managed 13, while scoring 21 in all competitions for Die Roten Bullen.
