Barcelona have added one Arsenal star to their shortlist, ahead of a huge summer transfer window in North London.

The Gunners failed to get their hands on major silverware for the fifth consecutive season, but after receiving one of Europe’s highest payouts, a big window is expected.

Real Sociedad midfielder, Martín Zubimendi, is expected to be unveiled in red and white soon, following the completion of his medical and VISA application.

In addition to this, Arsenal are also keen to sign a striker, with Benjamin Šeško now the favourite, after concrete discussions took place between both clubs and the player’s camp.

The Champions League semi-finalists attempted to secure the Slovenian’s signature last summer, but he instead decided to stay and develop in Germany. Arsenal then returned in January, following an injury crisis in the attacking department, but those moves were rejected by his club.

Although the 21 year-old is now expected to wave goodbye to the Red Bull Arena, Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres is still under consideration, should a move fall through with the RB Leipzig player.

Furthermore, the Gunners are keen to sign a left-winger, with Rafael Leão, Nico Williams, and Jamie Gittens all being watched ahead of a potential move.

However, one of Arsenal’s stars on the left flank could depart the club in the coming months, with Barcelona interested in Gabriel Martinelli, according to Sport.

The Catalan club’s first choice winger is Marcus Rashford, but with Manchester United refusing to discuss a preferred loan deal, talks have been difficult.

With this, should the deal for the Englishman stall, Kingsley Coman and Martinelli are both viewed as suitable options, with Luis Díaz unable to currently join the Spanish champions due to limited finances.

After the Brazilian joined the club for just £6million as a teenager, Arsenal could be keen to cash in on the now £50million rated star.

Martinelli had a standout campaign two seasons ago, when he registered 21 league goal involvements in a single campaign, but the 23 year-old has failed to reach those heights since then.

However, he has consistently revealed his love for the club, revealing in 2022 that “I want to stay at Arsenal my whole life”.

The winger’s deal at The Emirates expires in 2027, with an option for an additional year, and so, the club do not yet view the contract renewal as urgent.
