The deal is reportedly close to being finalized, bringing Nketiah closer to wearing Palace colors.
Earlier this summer, Nketiah was on the verge of joining Nottingham Forest after the club reached a £30 million agreement with Arsenal.
However, the transfer collapsed when Forest failed to agree on personal terms with the player, leaving the door open for Palace to make their move.
Crystal Palace’s interest in Nketiah dates back several transfer windows, with the club reportedly considering a bid for the striker in January of this year.
Arsenal’s decision to maintain their £30 million valuation of Nketiah has seemingly paid off, as Palace is now poised to secure his services.
Nketiah Transfer to Palace Offers Regular Playing Time
With personal terms agreed, it now seems only a matter of time before Nketiah joins Crystal Palace, where he is expected to get the regular playing time he has long sought.
Throughout his career at Arsenal, Nketiah has often found himself as a backup, starting only 39.6% of his 187 senior appearances.
Despite this, he has managed to score an impressive 43 goals and provide eight assists.
At Crystal Palace, Nketiah will join a team that already boasts a strong attacking option in Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Mateta had an outstanding 2023/24 league season, netting 16 goals and providing five assists.
Nketiah’s arrival is expected to ease the goal-scoring pressure on Mateta, as both players compete for a spot in the starting lineup.
Arsenal to Benefit Financially from Nketiah’s Sale
Nketiah’s transfer to Crystal Palace is not just a boost for the player and his new club but also a financial win for Arsenal.
As an academy product, any money received from his sale will be accounted as pure profit for the Gunners.
This will aid Arsenal in meeting the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability regulations, ensuring the club remains financially compliant.
With Nketiah’s move to Crystal Palace on the horizon, both clubs are set to benefit—Palace by gaining a proven goal-scorer and Arsenal by securing a profitable transfer deal.
As the transfer window draws to a close, all eyes will be on Selhurst Park to see how Nketiah integrates into his new team.
