The Blues are considering including Trevoh Chalobah in a deal to strengthen their chances of securing Murillo, as Nottingham Forest has shown interest in Chalobah previously.
Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool Compete for Murillo
Arsenal and Liverpool have also shown interest in Murillo, though a move away from Nottingham Forest seems uncertain at the moment.
Murillo was seen with Forest’s coach, Nuno Espirito Santo, during their first pre-season training session on July 9th, leaving his future at the club in question.
Despite his openness to joining a financially stronger club, it remains to be seen if a substantial offer will come in the coming months.
Murillo has expressed his dream of playing for a top Premier League club. In an interview on the Benja Me Mucho podcast, he said, “I dreamed of playing in the Premier League. I thought, ‘I’ll go to Nottingham Forest, have a good year, and then move to a big club.’ I’d prefer Manchester City, but it would be hard to be a regular starter there. Arsenal and Liverpool are also great opportunities.”
With the summer transfer window closing on August 30th, the uncertainty surrounding Murillo’s future persists.
Chelsea’s keen interest and Forest’s firm stance on his valuation suggest that Murillo might not remain a Forest player come September.
With his contract running until 2028 and Forest having already made significant sales, the club is in a strong position to negotiate.
Murillo’s Journey and Achievements
Murillo’s journey to prominence began in his early years playing futsal in Sao Paulo. He transitioned to 11-a-side football at 16, joining Corinthians’ youth team.
Initially playing as a striker and midfielder, he was soon converted into a left-sided defender.
His impressive performances for Corinthians’ Under-20s led to his senior debut in April 2023.
Murillo’s move to Nottingham Forest came after he attracted interest from various European clubs.
Forest signed him for around £11 million, a bargain considering his impact.
He made 32 Premier League appearances in his debut season, helping Forest narrowly avoid relegation and earning the club’s Player of the Season Award.
As the new season approaches, Murillo is poised to be a key figure for any top European team that secures his signature.
Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool are all potential destinations for the talented defender, making him one of the most sought-after players this transfer window.
