Arsenal Eye Swap Deal for Juventus Star Federico Chiesa

Arsenal have a prime opportunity to negotiate a swap deal for one of Serie A’s best wide players.

With just one major signing this summer, goalkeeper David Raya, the Gunners are expected to announce the arrival of defender Riccardo Calafiori soon.

The next priority for Arsenal could be a new winger, and Sportmediaset reports that the club has already inquired about Italian star Federico Chiesa, who is expected to leave Juventus.

The Gunners could leverage this interest by offering a swap deal involving defender Jakub Kiwior.

Juventus manager Thiago Motta is reportedly interested in a reunion with Kiwior, making this a potential win-win situation for both clubs.

Federico Chiesa Could Help on Arsenal’s Attack

Federico Chiesa could significantly boost Arsenal’s attacking options.

Last season, Chiesa played predominantly as a second striker for Juventus but is equally adept at operating from both wide attacking positions.

His most successful stint has been from the right flank, where he has accumulated 64 goal contributions from 130 appearances for Fiorentina and Juventus.

Chiesa’s presence on the right wing could provide much-needed quality and depth behind Bukayo Saka.

Despite struggling with injuries after Euro 2020, Chiesa had a largely injury-free season last year, recording 10 goals and three assists from 37 appearances.

Valued at £38 million by Juventus, Chiesa is a versatile attacker known for his pace, dribbling, and finishing ability.

Arsenal’s Transfer Market Activity

Arsenal’s pursuit of Federico Chiesa comes as their need for attacking reinforcements grows, especially with the likely departure of Eddie Nketiah on loan to Marseille.

Chiesa, a 26-year-old Italian international, can play on either wing or as a second striker, offering Mikel Arteta tactical flexibility in the final third.

While Arsenal has made initial inquiries about Chiesa’s availability and Juventus’ financial demands, no formal offer has been submitted.

The Bianconeri are open to selling Chiesa abroad and are believed to be seeking a fee in the region of €40-50 million.

Chiesa’s potential arrival at the Emirates Stadium would add another dimension to Arsenal’s attack, complementing players like Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Leandro Trossard.

Arsenal face competition from other clubs for Chiesa’s signature.

Roma has also expressed interest in the Italian winger, although their preference is reportedly for another Juventus player, Matias Soulé.

Arsenal are also exploring other options to strengthen their attack, including Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao, Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, and Victor Osimhen from Napoli.

Chiesa’s versatility and proven track record in a top league make him a compelling option.

With his current contract set to expire next summer and no new deal agreed yet, Arsenal’s pursuit of Chiesa is likely to intensify as the transfer window progresses.
