Arsenal Could Follow Man United’s Transfer Strategy by Signing Spanish Star

Arsenal might follow Manchester United’s recent transfer strategy by targeting Dani Olmo, the Spanish international from RB Leipzig, for a potential summer signing.
This approach mirrors United’s acquisition of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.
The Dutch player was allowed to fly to Manchester for his medical after United agreed to stagger the payments for his transfer fee over several years, rather than paying the full amount upfront.

Payment Strategy for Dani Olmo
Zirkzee’s move to Manchester United, despite having a €40 million (£34 million) release clause, was finalized for €42.5 million, with the payments spread over three years.
This method could be beneficial for Arsenal as they pursue Olmo, whose release clause is reportedly €60 million (£51 million) but expires on July 20.
Post-expiration, RB Leipzig may still be open to negotiations around that price.
By spreading the payments over several years, Arsenal could make the transfer more financially manageable.
Olmo’s Transfer Alert
Dani Olmo has put Arsenal on high alert by acknowledging his release clause situation.
Currently preparing for the Euro 2024 final with Spain, Olmo has drawn attention with his impressive performances.
He stated that clubs interested in him “know what they have to do,” hinting at a possible summer move.
Olmo emphasized his focus on the Euros but expressed openness to transfer discussions post-tournament.
His release clause is set at €60 million (£51 million) and expires soon, with Chelsea reportedly unlikely to trigger it, boosting Arsenal’s chances.
Comparing to David Raya Deal
Arsenal successfully applied a similar approach with David Raya.
Initially joining on loan from Brentford for £3 million, Raya’s deal included a £27 million option to make the move permanent, effectively spreading the total £30 million fee over a year.
This model of financial structuring could be crucial for Arsenal as they navigate high-value transfers in a competitive market.
