Arsenal Increase Bid to €20m for Versatile Defensive Reinforcement

Arsenal have reportedly increased their bid to £20 million in an effort to sign Fenerbahce’s versatile defender, Ferdi Kadioglu.
The Turkish international has been attracting attention across Europe, especially after his strong performances during Euro 2024, where Turkey advanced to the quarter-finals.

He can play as a left-back, right-back, winger, or midfielder, making him a valuable asset for any team.
This versatility has caught the eye of top clubs, with both Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund now reportedly submitting €20 million bids for the 24-year-old.
However, Fenerbahce is holding out for a higher offer, closer to €35 million, as per Turkish outlet Nutuk.tr.
Arsenal’s willingness to increase their initial bid signals their strong interest in Kadioglu, but it’s unclear whether they will meet the Turkish club’s valuation.
Former Arsenal Star Lee Dixon Praises Ferdi Kadioglu
Former Arsenal full-back Lee Dixon was full of praise for Kadioglu during Turkey’s Euro 2024 quarter-final match, where he was on commentary duty.
Dixon remarked, “Looks an absolute star doesn’t he tonight? I think that wing-back role really suits him as well.”
His comments highlight the potential impact Kadioglu could have if he were to join the Gunners.
Despite Arsenal’s interest, the club has already strengthened their left-back options by signing Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna earlier this summer.
This could make it less likely for them to push beyond their current bid unless Kadioglu’s asking price becomes more manageable.
The situation also casts doubt on the future of Oleksandr Zinchenko, who lost his starting position to Takehiro Tomiyasu towards the end of the 2023/24 season and struggled during Arsenal’s summer tour of the United States.
Whether Arsenal will further increase their offer or if another club will step in remains to be seen, but Kadioglu’s versatility could make him a key addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad.
