The 26-year-old shot-stopper, who has been with Arsenal since 2021, was initially put on the market for a permanent transfer.

However, the high asking price, reportedly between £30-40 million, has discouraged potential buyers.

Despite the club’s preference for a permanent sale, Ramsdale’s desire for consistent first-team football has led Arsenal to reconsider their approach.

With the summer transfer window closing soon, the Gunners are now open to loan offers, with a loan fee set at £6 million for the upcoming 2024-25 season.

Aaron Ramsdale Could Leave Arsenal Soon

Ajax, Nottingham Forest, and Southampton are among the clubs reportedly interested in securing Ramsdale’s services.

Ajax’s recent entry into the race adds competition for the goalkeeper, who has struggled for playing time since the arrival of David Raya at the Emirates Stadium.

Raya, who joined Arsenal from Brentford on loan last summer, quickly established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper, relegating Ramsdale to a secondary role.

Ramsdale managed just 11 appearances in all competitions during the 2023-24 season, a stark contrast to his previous campaigns as a regular starter.

With his contract running until June 2026, Ramsdale is keen to find a club where he can play regularly, and a loan move seems to be the most viable option for all parties involved.

Arsenal’s Goalkeeping Dilemma

Ramsdale, a former Bournemouth and Sheffield United player, has made a significant impact in the Premier League, with 153 appearances across three clubs.

Despite keeping 38 clean sheets, he has conceded 212 goals during his time in the league.

His experience and capability as a goalkeeper make him an attractive option for clubs looking to strengthen their squad.

However, Arsenal’s acquisition of David Raya has shifted the dynamics within the squad.

Raya’s performances have solidified his position as Mikel Arteta‘s preferred goalkeeper, leaving Ramsdale with limited opportunities.

The loan fee of £6 million for the 2024-25 season could provide Arsenal with some financial relief while giving Ramsdale the chance to revive his career elsewhere.
