Arsenal Reignite Bid for £162k-a-Week Star; Received Massive Transfer Boost with Gyokeres

Arsenal has made a move to sign Victor Osimhen, a forward earning £162,000 per week at Napoli, following a change in their transfer strategy.
The Gunners are looking to bolster their attacking options for manager Mikel Arteta despite the strong form of Kai Havertz.
Havertz’s Impact and Jesus’s Struggles
Kai Havertz, after a slow start at Arsenal, found his footing and finished the 2023/2024 season with 14 goals and seven assists.

His impressive form has raised concerns for Gabriel Jesus, whose season was marred by injuries and inconsistent performances. Jesus missed 16 games due to fitness issues, while Havertz thrived under Arteta’s guidance.
Despite Havertz’s success, Arsenal is still keen on signing a new striker.
Arteta wants both a striking partner for Havertz and an alternative to Jesus.
Earlier attempts to sign RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko failed as the Slovenian extended his contract.
Other potential targets include Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres and Ajax’s Brian Brobbey.
Renewed Interest in Victor Osimhen
Arsenal has now set their sights on Victor Osimhen of Napoli.
Osimhen, who has a release clause of around £109 million, is widely expected to leave Napoli if an agreement can be reached.
Journalist Ben Jacobs had mentioned Arsenal’s interest earlier this year, noting that Osimhen prioritizes a move to the Premier League.
Corriere dello Sport reports that Arsenal has re-entered the race for Osimhen, making an approach to sign the prolific forward.
The Gunners face stiff competition from PSG and Chelsea, both of whom are also keen on the Nigerian star.
Former Napoli coach Rudi Garcia praised Osimhen as a “crazy driving force,” a sentiment reflected in his impressive Serie A goal tally.
Massive Transfer Boost with Viktor Gyokeres
Arsenal has received a significant boost in their pursuit of Viktor Gyokeres.
The 26-year-old striker, linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, has had his release clause lowered.
Gyokeres, whose contract with Sporting CP runs until 2028, scored 29 goals and provided nine assists in the Portuguese top flight last season, playing a crucial role in their Primeira Liga title win.
According to Bola Na Rede, Sporting paid Coventry City €1 million to reduce their sell-on clause, making it easier for them to negotiate a potential sale.
This move could lower the €100 million release clause, paving the way for Arsenal to secure Gyokeres’s signature.
